In November 2009 at the 85th ARBA Convention, a charter application was submitted to the ARBA to form a show circuit under the name “Mid Atlantic Rabbit and Cavy Shows” or MARCS. The ultimate goal of this organization is to bring an ARBA Convention to the D9 area.  This has been an endeavor that has interested many D9 rabbit breeders over the years. While

this is the ultimate goal, it will take years of planning to achieve.

As a first step, the MARCS board invites your club to affiliate with the show circuit to show your support for this endeavor. Membership will be by association only. Once a club is affiliated with MARCS, all members of the club will be considered associate members of MARCS. Association fees are $25/year, $40 for two years and $55 for three years. An application form has been included for your convenience.

The people will be the heart of this endeavor. Individuals need to be identified and named to fill the many leadership positions as well as the many volunteers it will take to plan and run a national convention. D9 has many talented and experienced people so we should not have any problems identifying the right individuals.

This is a third reminder to please send your letters of endorsement to MARCS supporting our efforts to bring the ARBA Convention to D9. We are bidding THIS YEAR at the 2011 ARBA Convention in Indianapolis! Letters of endorsement, written by all of our affiliated clubs, signal that we are indeed a unified group that has a common interest in hosting the ARBA Convention. These letters will be included in our bid. In the "files" section please find a .pdf outlining this process. There is also a template that you can use when drafting the letter. A few letters of endorsement will look great. Imagine what over 25 letters of endorsement would look like!
